Green Awareness

We are now proactive in reducing our environmental impact on the planet, while maintaining the comfort and standards expected of a 4 star guest house.

Our energy consumption is reduced through use of energy efficient light bulbs, and switching off unnecessary lights (only those required for safety are left on). Our new solar panels on the roof provide most of our hot water requirements.

We source much of our food through local suppliers (milk, eggs, meat, etc) to reduce food mileage.

Waste is reduced by extensive use of recycling of paper, card, glass, plastics and cans. Vegetable matter is composted and used on the garden.

Water is collected in several water butts and used to water garden plants.

We invite our guests to assist us in our aims by using recycling bins provided in all the bedrooms, not leaving televisions on standby, turning off lights when not required and re-using towels whenever possible.
